2024 Grant Recipients

PMI: Put Me In! provides recurring annual financial aid packages of $1,000 per year to children of incarcerated parents (“CIPs”) to increase their access to sports. PMI’s annual financial aid supports the direct costs of sports participation (league fees, equipment, and travel), and automatically renews yearly through 12th grade.

This year’s grant from Evergreen Children’s Foundation will allow PMI to launch its Chicago programming.

For over 10 years, the What’s Your Forté Foundation’s misson has been to invest in the equitable economic advancement of youth and families through partnership and purposeful relationships. Their vision is to be a powerful lever for social change, that facilitates transformational development on the South & West sides of Chicago. Through philanthropy, innovative opportunities, robust engagement, and a continuum of services, the foundation holistically supports youth by offering character development, career exploration, wellness, and wealth building. Their violence prevention and economic empowerment projects have made a 40% percent impact (reducing inequities) in the most historically underdeveloped and impoverished neighborhoods in Chicago.

The mission of Communities In Schools of Chicago is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. For more than three decades we have challenged the inequities that disproportionately impact low-income students. These inequities threaten students’ path to high school graduation, a critical milestone to building a thriving life. Our vision is that one day, every public-school student graduates from high school prepared to succeed.

The Grace Network provides health and hygiene essentials to students facing housing insecurity.  We are currently partnered with over 80 CPS schools where we and stock and refill care closets three times per year.  Though our school network, we serve thousands of students who do not have access to basic care items outside of school.

Our mission is simple, every student deserves to start their day with dignity and grace, no matter what challenges they are facing in their home life.
